I grew up exploring the river bottoms and woods of SE Idaho and hiking the Tetons with my dad. As a researcher, I've spent a lot of time in sagebrush and other desert ecosystems, driving dusty roads with only the occasional rancher to wave to. I am passionate about producing science that is beneficial to wildlife management and sustainable land use. Effective science communication and community-centered conservation that taps into the proud place-identify of rural Americans are also really important to me.
