I have a wealth of experience developing advisory councils, boards, and partnerships with other organizations and concerned citizens. I’m an award-winning community leader with nearly a decade of experience in all of the above qualifications, as well as donor and program development.I’ve developed and led multiple strategic marketing campaigns. I am looking to leverage a lifetime of experience in business and non-profit community work, and my advanced degree in journalism and communication into a meaningful career in strategic communications.With a master's degree in journalism and communication, I am well-versed and highly-skilled in writing and digital communication, as well as public speaking.I began fundraising in 2011 for the Charleston Arts and Revitalization Effort (CARE). By the next year I was the chairman and lead fundraiser for the first profitable Gateway to the Delta Festival the city had, raising over $60,000 in outside donations and tens of thousands more through programming I developed for the festival.During this time, CARE not only dramatically increased its membership, but through a public relations strategy I developed, we also reached out to the minority population of the city and were able to drastically diversify the membership. I’m proud to say that today the CARE officers, board, and membership is reflective of the community it serves.For my efforts here and with other non-profits, the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi chose me as their 2013 Dan Maddox Man of the Year. A year later Volunteer Mississippi chose me as a recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award for 2014.
