Cal has consistently performed at a high level throughout his professional career which includes Sports, Entrepreneurship, and Corporate Business. Through sports, he learned, the key to success is hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Cal based his professional growth and success on these principles. This core ideology helped build the foundation on which he was able to successfully excel throughout his professional career. Using these principles he attained an athletic scholarship to Old Dominion University. He graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science with focus on Sports Medicine. Following graduation, Cal was selected as the 17th overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft. After three seasons in the NBA he journeyed to Europe playing three more seasons in Italy. Cal retired from sports in May 2005 at which point he transitioned into entrepreneurship, starting his own company, Downtown Auction Company which specialized in estates, bankruptcies, liquidations, etc. He gained valuable experience in sales, logistics, marketing, and finance. He began to understand the importance of cultivating strong relationships and how to leverage them to enhance business development. That said, no business is without its challenges. Cal quickly learned to identify, assess, and develop strategies to overcome any issues that may arise. After seven years as an entrepreneur, Cal entered the corporate world, accepting a role with the Atlanta Hawks as a B2B Membership Sales Consultant. While there, he was able to vastly expand his knowledge and understanding of sales as it pertains to Corporate America. He built a strong network which led him into his current role with Comcast/NBC Universal where he continues to expand his network by specializing in the creation, development, and maximization of relationships with the top Real Estate Developers and Builders throughout Greater Atlanta.
