Returned to Ecolab again! Worked as a consultant for a number of months, then converted to a perm Ecolab position:I used this time to re-familiarize myself with Ecolab as a company. My priorities were focused on helping out with projects related to Ecolab's 2012 acquisition of Nalco - which, at the time was the largest acquisition in Ecolab's history! I was later able to position myself to take on tasks more closely related to my traditional IT skills - at the same time, passing the CISSP exam in 2015!During this time I was responsible for various IT Security services, including:Symantec Endpoint Protection:• Completed SEP12 upgrade at legacy Nalco.• Managed dual maintenance on legacy Ecolab and Nalco, while merging overall infrastructure.• Analyzed and consolidated configurations on legacy Ecolab servers; Added to merged infrastructure.Juniper VPN Support:• Led the effort on behalf of Ecolab Global IT Security for re-configuration and moving of Juniper and RSA servers during both the APAC data center move (February 2013) and the Euro data center move (June 2013).• Reorganized Juniper VPN support to be a managed service, leveraging Fishnet Security for primary support.• Researched and tested capabilities of new Juniper versions to support a merged infrastructure, also Windows 8 and IE10. Provided results to the architectural design team.Firewall / Vulnerability Scanning:• Helped Safeguard Ecolab’s perimeter, by evaluating details of requests to allow non-standard access through Ecolab’s corporate firewall.• Scanned Ecolab servers for vulnerabilities (and provided/enforced suggested remediation where appropriate), prior to being exposed outside the Ecolab network.

MLT Vacations (a subsidiary of Delta Airlines) is one of the largest providers of vacation packages in the United States. There 2 main brands: Delta Vacations, and United Vacations. Vacation packages can be purchased through one of 3 websites (deltavacations.com, unitedvacations.com, and worldagentdirect.com - for travel agents), or by telephone - to the call center in Minot ND.Engine behind the MLT websites, also green screens (referred to as in-house, used at the Minot call center) is a proprietary reservations system called Suntrac, which I supported. Here's a summary of my involvement:• Development/support activities affecting functionality across both in-house and external MLT websites. Always providing support (many small fixes / enhancements), also larger projects.• Developed / deployed new processes to largely automate / replace in-house screens previously needed to add external hotel properties to MLT's reservation system for Pegasus (Ultra Direct) demand gateway. Also worked on similar processing for HBSi demand gateway.• Added various functionality for external hotel inventory to MLT’s reservation system. External hotel inventory shows as available for booking on MLT's reservation system, however is actually part of an extranet, implemented largely through the use of 2 industry-standard gateways: HBSi, and Pegasus (Ultra Direct). Communication is implemented via opentravel-compliant XML request / response messages.• Conversion, customization, and testing of Suntrac core operations, moving from VMS to Linux OS.• Added functionality for external car inventory to MLT’s reservation system, by implementing XML-based link to Enterprise Holdings’s reservation system. Returned to Ecolab (as consultant) to maintain, and provide enhancements for Ecolab’s Global Operations, Order Entry, Financial Analysis, Institutional data warehouse, and Billing systems. Returning to Ecolab (my old employer) as a consultant was a very interesting time for me. Many of the same Ecolab employees I knew (from years ago) were still there, and was able to get together with them socially. Most importantly, I established a high level of professional credibility, and had a number of accomplishments for Ecolab, despite the difficult business climate Keane (as an organization) was operating within at the time.Project and case management, Cobol, DB2, IDMS, IEF/AdvantageGen, SQL.

Spring / summer rollout of Clearance / Pricing Management (CPM) system. Streamlined systems for efficiency. DB2 stored procedures, Unit testing, group system testing, and supported UAT of above-mentioned processes.

Analysis / documentation activities. Recommended timeline and course of action for mainframe to AIX system.

Worked for 2 years as a consultant, then was hired as a Senior Product Specialist in April, 2000. Pepsico was one of my favorites, where I had an important role in projects using interesting technology, and helped save Pepsico hundreds of millions of dollars!• Pepsico Supply Chain Production Management. Support i2 dm tool implemented at Pepsico in 2003. Also support / lead enhancement projects for new initiatives related to applications already in production. Variety of technologies.• Pepsico Supply Chain, i2 Demand Management (dm 6.0) implementation: Lead / developer for offshore project to implement i2 dm tool at Pepsico. Dm 6.0, Weblogic, LDAP, Informatica 6.1, Oracle, MS Project, Excell, Powerpoint, Unix, Perl, DB2, MS Access, and host skills (Cobol II, DB2, IMS, JCL, SQL, etc.).• Frito Lay i2 implementaion: Lead technical specialist at a very large implementation of the i2 Demand Planner supply chain tool. Design, test, and implement processes needed to extract information from various corporate resources and populate this information into the i2 Demand Planner module residing on AIX (Unix) systems. Maintain and re-configure OLAP database. Extract information from i2 DP on AIX to send to other systems, and also for reporting. Implemented CRS on NT version of DP, then version 4.1.1 in production, and later version 4.3.1 in production. i2 clients, servers, and utilities, Unix, Perl, Java, DB2, Access, and host skills (Cobol II, DB2, IMS, JCL, SQL, etc.), VB 6, ASP.• Frito Lay: Development of distributed system to allocate labor resources as needed at Frito Lay, by translating material requirements into labor requirements. 32 bit MF Cobol, DB2\2, Java.• Frito Lay: Support and enhance Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) system. Java (using Jbuilder as IDE), 32 bit MF Cobol, DB2\2, mainframe skills, and DB2.

• Y2K - compliance analysis & redeployment. Also, Support & enhance batch & online processes for TIG’s personal lines insurance group.

Sabre was a division of AMR corporation (parent of American Airlines). My time there was split between 2 positions; I first worked within the AATMS target marketing group (supporting the American Airlines AAdvantage system), later for a customer service group, where I helped develop and implement a system to handle customer correspondence. This work is detailed below:• Upgrade customer correspondence imaging system from proprietary mainframe system to client server based system. VB 4, 5 Oracle, ODBC, VSS, Crystal, Filenet imaging. We worked a lot of hours on this project! It was way over budget before I started, and we had to re-scope requirements and functionality to make deliverable within a reasonable time frame. In the end, it was delivered, and saved the company many thousands of dollars every year through automation of tasks previously handled manually.• Support and enhance Awards area of the AAdvantage Frequent flyer system. Made major infrastucture enhancements to support system stabilization, and also supporting major marketing initiatives such as magazine awards, no mileage expiration with qualifying purchase, stickerless awards, and major awards re-design on Laser printer (and supporting coordination with bulk mail vendors).Voted "Employee of the month" twice (in a 200+ member group). IEF Composer, VB 3,4,5 MS Access, REXX, Access for DB2, SQL, SPUFI, Cobol II.

Ecolab was my first job after graduating from university. It was (and still is) a good company to work for; A significant percentage of employees find a lifelong career there. • Implemented, supported, and make enhancements to Cost module of Cullinet Manufacturing system while implementing this system plant by plant.• Support and enhance CCC, BOM, INV, & SFC modules of Cullinet Manufacturing system (CAS). Streamline and increase online availability of Ecolab Order Processing system. • Upgrade Order Entry, Order Processing, and Service Revenue reporting systems to support integration of a major business into Ecolab corporate systems.
