I am a journeyman electrician from Canada. My apprenticeship consisted of four years of on the job training along with four sessions of technical school training. During my apprenticeship I worked in a wide variety of fields. I am familiar with all aspects of residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems both as new construction and as retrofit. My training and work experience has provided me with an excellent knowledge of all aspects of these fields. After becoming a journeyman electrician, I have focused on the industrial maintenance aspect of the profession. This focus has allowed me to excel at maintaining various types of equipment and given me the ability to quickly solve any problems that may arise. I am especially proficient at working with programmable logistic controllers, Delta V distributed control systems, and variable-frequency drives. My eleven years of experience as an electrician has not only provided me with great technical skills, it has also taught me how to work effectively and safely as an individual and as part of a team. I have worked on large construction sites with hundreds of other workers covering the gamut from laborers to engineers and all the trades in between. I had no difficulty coordinating my work with the work of my fellow electricians and all of the other various tradesmen involved. I know the value of completing work efficiently, effectively and in a timely matter. I also realize that safety cannot be sacrificed to facilitate expediency. In furtherance of this principle, I can advise that I have never been involved in any serious workplace injury.
