This position was a big step for me, as it was far out of my comfort zone regarding the environment (warehouse instead of an office room). Due to this, there was a massive learning curve, as I was forced to use my greatest skills and traits to my advantage. Communication and customer service were necessary to be successful working at Wayne's. You were dealing with and helping customers with their orders throughout the day, leading to a massive amount of talking and coordination between the customers and my fellow employees. Despite my love of meeting new people, my communication skills were truly tested in this position with the degree of back-and-forth required. Despite this, I feel far more confident talking to and working with others in a fast-paced and stressful environment, improving my communication skills immensely. I was also forced to take on multiple responsibilities and utilize teamwork daily. These are all skills that will be of significant importance in a future marketing position.

One of the primary responsibilities and tasks I undertook while working at Rainy Day over the summer was ensuring the safety of other workers on job sites. Whenever they were working on the roofs or ladders, I had to ensure that nothing terrible would happen to them. Not only did this prepare me well for my next job at Wanye's (safety within a warehouse), but it also made me realize a significant part of myself: I feel the best when supporting others. Supporting co-workers on different job sites made me feel like I made a difference while also helping me feel valuable and efficient with my time throughout the summer. Additionally, teamwork and organization were massive parts of the job. Each person needed to know their task on site and ensure that it got down, while I also helped confirm that things were moving smoothly. Overall, I had a great time working over the summer with other people for the first time. It not only showed me proper workplace safety, but it also got me used to working in teams and communicating with others effectively. I loved feeling busy over the summer, and I truly felt like I made a decent difference despite the simple position I had taken.
