I was a graduate research assistant in the Ison lab at NC State University, where I focused on the mechanistic study of transition metal catalysts. I utilized a variety of experimental techniques such as kinetic studies, x-ray crystallography, isotopic labeling studies, and linear free energy relationships alongside complementary computational approaches to elucidate reaction mechanisms, with the ultimate aim of using these insights to rationally design better catalysts.

I was responsible for the teaching of General Chemistry. I taught problem sessions and laboratories for the 2015-16 academic year. I then taught the Advanced Synthesis I and II laboratories from 2016-2018. These laboratories were focused on utilizing various metal complexes to give students more hands on experience with both synthesis of organic ligands as well as running catalytic reactions. I was responsible for the management of the laboratory as well as the collection of spectra for the students.

I was responsible for assisting a lead professor manage and teach chemistry labs of about 20 students. I was also responsible for grading and recording student progress throughout the semester.

I was responsible for assisting fellow students develop effective study habits for the sciences, while aiding in comprehension of course material and problem practice.
