Lighthouse Electric Company, Inc. was formed in March of 1984 as an electrical contracting firm, and we continue to maintain a focus on commercial, institutional and industrial projects. We are a member of NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association) and BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Service International).As a major electrical contractor serving western Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia and eastern Ohio, our construction division has built the electrical and communications systems for two of Pittsburgh’s largest sports venues, PNC Park and the CONSOL Energy Center. We also performed all electrical, CCTV and security construction on the David L Lawrence Convention Center. Both the Convention Center and CONSOL Energy Center are certified LEED Gold. Lighthouse has experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling). Our 3D modeled design drawings, when integrated with our construction trade partners, allow the project management team to explore physical and functional characteristics before installation, avoiding conflicts and allowing the construction team opportunity for redesign and or reengineering. Our Service Division performs both residential and commercial electrical work. We have ongoing maintenance projects covering a corporate headquarters office building for a Fortune 500 company and large data centers for major banking institutions.

Floor Coverings International (Henrico location) is a flooring installation company that specializes in offering its costumers a large variety of flooring options to fit their specific needs and preferences. The company succeeds in this by utilizing mobile showrooms that allow customers to see what the flooring options would look like in their own home and lighting. During my time working as an intern for FCI's Henrico location, I was tasked with performing a variety of duties which primarily focused around advertising, demographic research, and marketing strategies.During my time at FCI, I was tasked with performing the initial research and outreach to online and paper advertisement providers for FCI. I went on to schedule the appointments between these advertisement agencies and my FCI supervisors as well as conducted the follow up discussions for each.Another large part of my internship was performing demographic research on the territories belonging to my specific franchise location as well as going on to make recommendations as to which areas FCI should specifically target its marketing campaigns. My research included variables such as average home value, average home income, and other predetermined demographic information that my supervisors deemed valuable, all broken down by zip code and district. Upon the conclusion of my internship, I presented my full findings to my supervisors along with my personal recommendations as to how I believed FCI should undertake its marketing strategies in the following months. The third key aspect of my internship was analyzing several key competitors of FCI in order to determine the best course of action that FCI should take in its marketing strategies. This research included studying company reviews, news articles, as well as overall word of mouth, all with the goal of understanding how to fully market FCI's strengths and skills in its competitive market, as well as taking advantage of the weaknesses of its rivals.
