Maintain and perform key operations for control of the Surface Water Treatment PlantUtilize SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) to adjust overall flow of the water plant, remotely open and close valves, monitor chemical dosing, monitor pump usage, remotely turn off and on pumps throughout the city, monitor water towers, monitor pump stations, monitor well fields, monitor pressure for the plant at each individual pressure zone for the CityOperate and drive the forklift for chemical tote replacement and for unloading chemical delivery Unload and change out One Ton Chlorine canistersTroubleshoot and perform minor maintenance and flushes on water pumps and chemical feed pumpsDo daily Calculations of chemical dosage for the plant and make proper adjustments on chemical feed pumps throughout whole plant to match current water flowPerform preventive maintenance on every aspect of the plant before reporting major jobs to the on plant mechanic crewExercise valves on the plantSafety first handling of Chlorine gas, Polymer Liquid and Aluminum Sulfate Liquid all three chemicals used daily on the water treatment plant.Perform daily plant rounds ever 2 hours Laboratory work done daily, testing the PH levels of water, the overall solids in the water, testing the chlorine in the water, Maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment: Chlorine Analyzers, Turbidimeters, PH Meters, beakers, graduated cylinders, volumetric pipettes, test tubes, cicibles and florence flasksI’ve also done work for the plant throughout the city, flushing fire hydrants and checking the PH levels, Chlorine residual at certain pressure points in the city and reading plant related water meters
