Hi! I'm Caleb, a software project manager with a background in process engineering and software testing.I have a mechanical engineering degree, but found myself continuously drawn to the digital side of things. While working for the J.M. Smucker company, I developed control logic for conveyor systems, coded new routines for the palletizing robots, and collected and analyzed machine data to find bottlenecks in the system. None of these projects were primarily mechanical in nature, so I decided to try and shift into the tech industry.I took a position as a Test Engineer with Issuetrak. In this role I was part of the Scrum Development team working closely with seasoned software engineers. Testing software made me hungry to build it myself, so I began learning the foundational technical skills.I completed coursework through Thinkful focused on full-stack web development including Javascript, React, NodeJS and Postgres.After graduating from Thinkful, I moved to Lexington Kentucky and joined APAX Software where we build quality custom web and mobile applications for a variety of industries. We are a group of problem solvers who care. I began my career at APAX testing software, but have since moved into the Project Management role. This position plays to my strengths in effective communication, collaborative problem solving, strategic planning, relationship building, and continuous improvement of systems and processes. As a PM, I get to think critically from a big picture perspective about what clients and end users care about. And then am able to connect this to the nitty gritty details of planning and facilitating the successful delivery of software products I am proud of.
