Main Responsibilities:• Often as the first point of contact I ensure a standard of excellence is delivered, guiding clients by communicating effectively face to face, by telephone and in clearly written documentation.• I established a customer code of practice with defined and logical steps to taking a brief. This ensured a consistency to the process, instilled confidence in the client and enabled us to identify and minimise any potential areas for misunderstanding. • Fact finding - establishing how the potential customer became aware of our services (recommendation, endorsement, advertisement etc) and establishing the client’s initial situation with regards to the potential project. • Identifying and confirming the client’s specific project needs – including priorities, feasibilities, timescales, budgets available and specifications. In this process I make sure that the client’s needs are appreciated, they have suitable knowledge of us and our services, and recognise that we have a good understanding of what they want by summarising and committing them to their specific project needs in an email. It is important in this process to ensure they understand the value of using our service, and not just the cost of a building project; allowing them to make an informed decision in our favour.• Effective diary management of the company director and scheduling/re-scheduling meetings with clients, third parties, architects, structural engineers, and building control officers as required. Monitoring fluctuating material terms, and pricing from architects drawings and structural calculations.• Conflict resolution with customers- typically this may be something that was unforeseen by all parties but potentially could be costly for both. Occasionally clients may change their mind or budgets may fluctuate, and so my role would be to problem solve and find realistic and workable solutions without compromising the service or integrity of our work.
