I have learned that life is never stagnant; by constantly expanding my horizons I have experienced opportunities to grow, learn, and flourish in ways I never expected. I began this journey as a student at the University of Kentucky with aspirations to become the first attorney in my family. However, during my studies in the field of political science I naturally drifted to advanced coursework in community-building, urban planning, and housing development. This sparked a deep-founded interest in outreach, which prompted me to apply, and then chair the University of Kentucky’s Center for Community Outreach Organization.Following my early graduation, I knew that work in community outreach and advocacy was something I wanted to pursue. Growing up in Eastern Kentucky taught me the importance of family-centered, community action which I discovered was powerfully effective in the local church. It was then that I made the decision to enter into full-time ministry. Securing the Community and Family Director position at Russell Springs Christian Church allowed me the opportunity to establish a local parent empowerment organization while directing programming for kids and teenagers.Once I realized the incredible power of combining ministry and community-based outreach, I expanded my horizons to learn more about leading larger organizations. This led to a Master’s degree and residency program in Phoenix, AZ. where I was exposed to the power of large-scale volunteer team building and partnerships between the church and community organizations.Upon completion of my Master's degree in Strategic Ministry, I secured family programming positions in Franklin, TN and now in Joppa, MD where I supervise numerous staff members and lead hundreds of volunteer leaders daily. I thrive in organizations that are building volunteer structures and community partnerships in diverse, multi-cultural settings and excel in organizing internal structures, casting vision, recruiting new leaders, inspiring existing volunteers, and spearheading community partnerships. It is in these areas where my passion, positive nature, and relational spirit collide to build better and stronger teams.
