I am an aspiring creative writer from Forsyth, Missouri, with a passion for mythology and epic poetry, and strangely enough, much of my love for imagination stems from—get ready for the whiplash—my past ordeal with childhood cancer (ALL). At this early age, 4 to be precise, my illness confined most of my entertainment options to reading books due to generally being too lethargic to play in other conventional ways. That limitation was a reward in and of itself because it taught me that learning, storytelling, and wonder are utterly non-negotiable for experiencing the vibrance that life can offer. As I grew up, my private, classical high school education helped me to understand more fully the power of honed language and its ability to set one’s imagination ablaze with this vibrance. Studying Latin and the ideas of Middle Ages Scholastics specifically served as sources of inspiration. Later, at College of the Ozarks, I pursued a degree in English and worked at its writing center as a tutor since my childhood and adolescence had consistently nurtured a fascination with stories, language, and sharing my knowledge. Now, having graduated, I am working on starting up a career in copywriting, editing, or publishing to maintain healthy finances while working on fantasy novels and short stories.
