My passion for environmental preservation stems from my deep connection to Colorado's landscapes. Witnessing the gradual degradation of these natural areas has fueled my commitment to safeguarding our environment. This interest of mine led me to Colorado State University, where I studied Political Science with a particular focus on Environmental Politics and Policy and a minor in Environmental Affairs. My interests have consistently been intertwined with politics, as not only is it a location where policies are formulated and passed, but an area where the greatest impacts can be exerted. During my senior year of college, I served as an intern to a Colorado State Representative to gain insight into the legislative process firsthand. We engaged in numerous tasks, some of which were subsequently enacted, providing me with valuable knowledge about the necessary steps involved in such endeavors.During my time at Colorado State University, I concurrently majored in Economics to diversify my knowledge and gain a more comprehensive understanding of the implications of certain policies. It's hard to understand the full picture without considering the financial impact of decisions. In my senior year, I engaged in a capstone project that prioritized solutions to the rural-urban divide in Colorado. We collaborated with contacts in Grand County to provide some solutions to the growing divide from the front range, particularly during a global pandemic. This significantly broadened my understanding of how economic impacts can be differentially experienced based on geographically distinct regions.
