I am a researcher and educator specializing in Romance Languages and Applied Linguistics, with a focus on Hispanic linguistics, language variation and change, sociolinguistics, and acoustic phonetics. Additional interests include second language acquisition and educational technology. My doctoral dissertation examines the intersections of sociophonetic variation, sexual orientation, and style-shifting in Andalusian Spanish.I served as the coordinator for Spanish 102 course sections in the Spanish Basic Language Program at the University of Alabama for two years. Additionally, I have taught introductory and intermediate Spanish courses to undergraduates at the University of Alabama. Most recently, I worked as an adjunct instructor of Spanish at the University of Montevallo.
