While working in the Air National Guard I was a member of the Analysis and Database Management shop for aircraft maintenance. Our shop was charged with managing user, generating reports, and tracking aircraft maintenance to spot trends based on leading and lagging indicators. After nine years in the Air National Guard I moved onto a small low voltage firm where I was hired on as a service dispatcher. A short six months later I was running the department while the permanent supervisor was on maternity leave. Shortly thereafter I was promoted to the Senior Assistant Dispatch Manager position. Never one to sit on my hands, I began training myself to move into a Technical Service Support position. I signed up for as many manufacturer seminars and trainings as I could get to until I had a firm grasp on the systems our technicians were working on. I enjoyed a year at the Technical Support Specialist position before making the transition back to higher education. My time at Madison College in the IT - Web Software Development program has been challenging and enjoyable. It is incredibly rewarding to see my code come to life after spending several hours in a development environment. My first semester consisted of database, HTML and Cascading Style Sheets, and JavaScript. During my second semester I studied Java, SQL database programming, PHP, and UI/UX. Currently I am in my third semester and I'm studying advanced Java, advanced CSS, and Agile practices. I am currently seeking a web software internship and I'm eager to gain real world experience.
