As a Biochemistry graduate with a strong foundation in leadership, academic excellence, and community engagement, I am excited to continue my journey in the medical field. Graduating summa cum laude from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, I have consistently demonstrated my dedication to academic excellence.My leadership skills were honed through my involvement with the American Medical Student Association at Mississippi State University, where I served as Recruitment Chair and later as President. These roles allowed me to spearhead initiatives that increased chapter membership by 45% and to organize numerous events that fostered a supportive community for medical students.In addition to my leadership roles, I have extensive teaching experience as a Chemistry II Supplemental Instruction Leader. Conducting weekly sessions to reinforce course material and improve student understanding, I have helped many students achieve academic success. I also provide private MCAT tutoring and serve as a Director Level MCAT Tutor at Jack Westin, guiding aspiring medical students toward their goals.Volunteering is a significant part of my life. I have been actively involved with the Jackson Free Clinic, Habitat for Humanity, and the First Ridgeland Food Pantry, among other organizations. My committee work at Mississippi State University, including the Shackouls Honors College Committee and the Students with Disabilities Advisory Committee, reflects my dedication to enhancing the academic environment and ensuring accessibility for all students.In the lab, I have hands-on experience in biochemistry, organic chemistry, molecular biology, and protein methods. Proficient in techniques such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, chromatography, and spectrophotometry, I have contributed to various lab projects under the supervision of faculty members.Recognized for my leadership and service, I was honored with the President of the Year Award and the Spirit of State Award.
