I really enjoyed financial and retirement planning while I was with Triangle Financial Advisors working as a paraplanner. I have been series 6,7,& 63 FINRA licensed and I continue to maintain the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation along with NC Life and Health Licenses. My intent is to return to the financial planning field, but for the here and now, my father has Parkinson's Disease and I am his primary caregiver. He continues to work and I told him as long as he had the will and desire, I would find a way to make it happen - hence the hodge-podge of different jobs fitting around him working the livestock auctions on Mondays.In addition to thanking Lorraine D. Johonson CFP® CFA® ADPA for the privilege I had working with Triangle Financial Advisors, I have to thank Brandon & Stacy Patrick the owners of NC Marine and Your Mobile Technician respectively. Never would I have dreamed that there would be so much about running a business and the challenges that small business owners face. First hand I have seen what a step it is going from one or two employees to 13 and along with that comes learning about: Sales & Use Taxes, Workers Compensation and Annual Audits, Payroll, Human Resources, and Accounting. Theses experiences have been invaluable for understanding what small business owners face ad how many hats they have to wear.Working with Talbert Building Supply has given me a different perspective of the business world as well. I began as a CDL truck driver and have since transitioned into a inventory specialist role. While I do miss being on the road, having the opportunity to work directly with the Roxboro Store Manager and both their Shipping Manager and Yard Managers.Finally we come to AAA and my Light Service Technician role with the Auto Club Group and before the buyout AAA Carolina's. I have always enjoyed helping people and in that way it is a lot like financial planning. I have always prided myself on both competency and my customer service and I think my track record of going over a year with perfect customer satisfaction scores -speaks for itself. As far as battery sales goes I take the consultative sales approach, by educating the member, going over their options, and then letting them make an informed decision that fits their current circumstances and needs. I carry more tools than my peers and because of this am able to overcome most challenges out in the field. My Automotive Systems Technology educational background also certainly doesn't hurt as well.Whats out there and what the future holds - I can't wait to see...
