I was born in Castle Rock, Colorado, to a family of six. From the day I was born, having three other siblings made one thing clear. I knew that I had to work hard and put my best foot forward when I wanted to achieve something, whether that be being the first sibling to get up on a Sunday morning and have the first pick at what TV show to watch or being the employee chosen to get a promotion. In high school, I worked as a barista at Starbucks, where I learned customer service, money handling, and working with a team. There, I also learned that helping people was what I wanted to do. If a customer came in and their drink wasn't made to their expectations, I would do everything in my power to ensure they walked out with a smile. I also had the opportunity to work at a small Italian restaurant in my hometown, Scileppis. I am currently still employed as a busser/barback. Serving the customers and hearing the words "This was delicious" makes working there ten times more rewarding than the pay. Knowing that a customer was satisfied with our care and our product makes the pay seem like a bonus. This job has taught me how to become more flexible, communicative, and efficient. I always strive to learn and innovate more effective and efficient ways to get a job done. The best reward for all that effort is seeing a happy customer. All these experiences have led me to want to pursue a career in helping people. No matter what the job is, as long as I get the satisfaction of knowing that what I did helped someone in some way, I'll be happy.
