On the RC-Car subteam, I created system models of varying levels of complexity with the goal of optimizing results when using Model Predictive Path Integral Control.

• Built subsystem to calculate lateral distances from radar data for the Driver Side Turn feature in PreScan simulation• Analyzed real-world test run data for the feature and identified issue with the radar data processing• Developed an energy tracking system to be run on an ECU for a mild hybrid truck• Configured logic for the Bosch PowerBox 190 and wrote the CAN database files with which it interfaced using CANdb++

At GTMS, about 50 members build a F1-Style race car from scratch every year with a budget of over $100,000. Despite the steep learning curve, I quickly adapted and was soon assigned a project in which I designed and manufactured a custom throttle body cam given only the previous cam and a high-level description of the desired movement. Finally, I designed a modifiable exhaust in order to research the effect of exhaust pipe length before the exhaust collector.
