Oversee the care and description of photo collections.Accession and process new acquisitions using DACS principles.Provide access to the photograph and A/V collection through the creation and maintenance of inventories, processing plans, finding aids, and catalog records in accordance with professional standards using the institution's CMS and DAMS. Point of contact for photo donations, corresponding with donors and presenting materials to the acquisitions committee.Perform preservation for photo and A/V materials, ensuring maintenance of stacks and other cold storage areas. Digitize photographic collections including prints, negatives, and transparencies on a copy-stand in accordance with institutional and professional best practices to create FADGI-compliant images.Contribute to the institution’s outreach efforts by providing images and supporting historical context and analysis to staff for exhibition and digital use.Maintain supply inventory as necessary for the Photo Archives and Recorded Media Archives, including equipment for viewing and preservation of A/V materials.Contribute to departmental strategic planning for Photo Archives and Recorded Media Archives.Collaborate in the development of a local, reparative vocabulary by creating alternatives to offensive and euphemistic language used in established authorities such as the Library of Congress and Baseball Reference. Aid in provenance restoration project for Photos and Recorded Media to establish intellectual control over collections.Process the backlog of the Hall of Fame’s A/V materials, including rehousing and stabilizing film, video, and audio tape. Monitor at-risk A/V materials to minimize and slow deterioration. Implement and train staff for the handling of A/V materials in accordance with professional guidelines.Coordinate with Recorded Media Manager to establish priorities for digitization.
