I have been studying Aerospace Engineering at North Carolina State University for the past 4 years. In that time, I have held and Engineering Internship Position at Kinemax Engineering where I worked on 3D Design and Testing for medical devices, an undergraduate research assistantship working on Computational fluid dynamics, as well as worked two summers with the Air Force Research Labs conducting computational fluid dynamics research. In my academics, I enjoy going beyond the bare minimums of my assignments and attempting to use my knowledge for more challenging applications - whether it be developing MATLAB programs to visualize fluid concepts or modeling personal projects in solidworks to solidify my skills. Two of my favorite projects I have undertaken are a Matlab program that animates the airflow over an airfoil as the angle of attack is increased - showing the changing velocity contours and streamlines - and a numerical Matlab simulation of an inflatable body colliding with arbitrary solid bodies. I currently hold an internship position where I work with the Air Force Research Labs conducting CFD simulations for various applications.

Air Force Research Labs ScholarAir Force Research Laboratory May 2019 - Feb 2020My work this season with The Air Force Research Labs started with developing a robust curve fit method for splining the coordinates of supersonic nozzle contours. The work evolved into creating a new method for designing supersonic nozzles that comes very close to achieving a "quiet" nozzle - or a nozzle with full shock wave cancelation at the exit. Currently, I am working on a project aimed at reducing boundary impacts in low-speed internal flows, where I am running fluid simulations to compare different designs. -
Air Force Research Labs ScholarAir Force Research Laboratory May 2018 - Aug 2018Albuquerque, New Mexico AreaDuring my summer with the Air Force Research Labs, I developed a bleed system for our supersonic testing facility. I created the physical models in Solidworks and analyzed them using a research-level computational fluid dynamics code. This work helped solidify my skills with meshing, computational software, and effective post-processing. -
Undergraduate Research Assistant :: Computational Fluid DynamicsNc State University Jun 2017 - May 2018Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina AreaWorking with the North Carolina State Aerospace Engineering Computational Fluid Dynamics Laboratory, I researched computational models for 2 phase flows under Associate Department Head, Dr. Edwards. I was responsible for researching models for flow cavitation, gas interaction, and shock wave interface capturing. I would analyze the results of the simulations in Tecplot and compare them to data from verified research articles for verification. I later turned to a project that used linear methods to compute ideal flow fields around arbitrary bodies and provide contours of the off-surface data in MATLAB. My paper on the program won Second Place at the AIAA 2018 Region II Student conference. Responsibilities: Conducting simulations for various 2-phase flows including furnace cooling systems and underwaterdetonations Aiding in research and implementation of various schemes and mathematical models into in-housecomputational code Analyzing data and compared case results to previous research for method verification

Engineering InternKinemax Engineering May 2016 - Jul 2016Belmont, NcI worked with Kinemax Engineering - in Belmont, NC - where I was repsonsible for design modeling and product testing. I created SolidWorks models for preliminary design use and for pitching new technologies to investors and collaborators. I also executed fatique and deflection tests on devices and compiled the data for comparison to competing developers.Responsibilities: Creating 3D models in SOLIDWORKS for various orthopaedic implants, enabling my team to pitchnew technologies to manufacturers and hospitals Aiding in the patent process for developed medical devices by creating engineering drawings andprocedural diagrams Conducting tests on machined products to ensure performance standards and manufacturing tolerances Facilitating market research and information consolidation, allowing for more ecient communicationbetween sales staff and customers.
