In the Quality Control department, I was one of two chemists in the Raw Materials group for the Narcotics division of the company. My responsibilities included performing testing on samples of bulk materials used in the production of the narcotics made by Mallinckrodt, ensuring that cGMP Practices were followed while maintaining appropriate documentation.

The role of Administrative Associate included developing strategies for minimizing clinic operational costs during a fiscal assessment period which ultimately led to the clinic being kept open beyond the 90 day target. Also, by improving communication with physicians’ offices, nursing facilities, and other hospital departments the quantity of patient referrals to the clinic showed an increase sufficient to warrant the recruitment of additional providers. Additionally, by developing a personal familiarity with a majority of clinic patients, multiple doctors, many SJHC employees, and several nursing home staff nurses, the clinic approval rating and patient satisfaction surveys were among the highest of any department. Becoming intimately familiar with EPIC facilitated becoming the clinic expert in training and assisting physicians and nurses in the operation of the software. Screening and controlling the flow of vendors and product reps allowed the clinic physicians to maximize efficiency in both patient care as well as new product education.
