As a native South Carolinian, I use my business success across a variety of industries to help better my community and the Carolinas through supporting civic and nonprofit organizations. In addition to being a past president of the board of the South Carolina Governor's School of Science and Math Foundation, I have held board positions with the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce, and the South Carolina Historical Society, among other groups. I previously served 21 years as co-chairman of The Merit Group, a middle market supplier to the commercial and residential paint industry serving the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean. My career began as a sales manager with the Anheuser-Busch distributor DuBard, Inc., after earning a bachelor's degree in English and business administration from the University of South Carolina.I relocated to North Carolina in 2014 when I acquired QMX Mobile Health to pursue one of my passions of impacting the healthcare industry in a positive way. QMX provides on-site diagnostic and imaging services to hundreds of skilled nursing facilties, assisted living facilities, homecare agencies, private practices, athletic departments, corporations, correctional facilities, and behavioral health centers throughout North Carolina. Diagnostic Imaging is crucial in correctly diagnosing a patient's condition and at QMX we do it with excellence. It was through QMX that I discovered Will and Lois Irwin, who together founded EZaccessMD. While EZaccessMD was still newly formed, I knew that I wanted to lead the initiative to offering this unique model of healthcare in North Carolina. With that, I founded the EZaccessMD North Carolina chapter that provides many of the services that you would normally receive at an urgent care center, in the patients home. We work with employers to provide on-site healthcare benefits to their employees at no cost to them. This model proved to be a invaluable benefit during the Covid-19 pandemic.
