My role at Pertronic Industries was initially as a summer intern, part of a group of three students of which I was the senior. The position started as a summer work experience program consisting of group work and continued as a sole position throughout the final year of my undergraduate study. This role provided a solid grounding and continued work experience throughout that year.The main development task, among other minor projects was the design of a wireless, battery backed-up vibrating and strobe alarm system for use within semi-permanent accommodation by peoples who are hearing and/or visually impaired. This project involved a number of iterations and is now part of Pertronic’s product range.
