  • Swordfish Group
    Commercial Director And Partner
    Swordfish Group Sep 2015 - Dec 2021
    Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
As the commercial director, I introduced our agency to new clients. When I started, the company had 2 moderately active clients in the pharma space. When I completed my service, we had built a diversified portfolio with rich activity across 20 companies that included pharma, biotech, medtech, animal health, consumer health (OTC) and agribusiness. We became true partners, developing client relations that flourished. I worked hard, always believing that client success was the measure of our success. We won many awards during my time as Commercial Director. It was also my role to position and differentiate the agency. And that mattered to me a lot, because I wasn't just working at Swordfish. I was also a partner. As a partner, I was building an agency with the capabilities to tackle big problems in health. So, I worked hard to hire and inspire, enabling each individual on our team to reach their potential. This meant I held an entrepreneurial role, and I wore many hats. • Shaping and building capabilities • Transforming and training our teams • Creating innovative approaches to solve problems• Fostering relationships with innovative partners• Setting targets and metrics for growth and change, that we always surpassed• And much moreI was deeply successful in my role as partner. I nurtured relationships across Australia and AsiaPac, building our dream of new offerings, skills, and services, and growing from a single agency of 3 people to a team of 39 professionals across 3 uniquely positioned agencies in 2 continents serving multiple countries. After 6 years, a beautiful story was unfolding, but then things changed. It was hard for me to leave in December of 2021. The company had become a part of my identity. I felt like “Caleb” was synonymous with “Swordfish”. But in the end, I did leave. If you are reading this today, reach out to me! I'd love to connect with you about my experiences, hear about your challenges and interests, and see if we can work together!
