HotMakes is a live show that highlights the best of the maker community with curated content comprised of submissions from fans using #HotMakes on Twitter and Instagram. HotMakes has a “morning radio show” vibe, with witty banter and fun, lighthearted showcases of fan submissions. The show was originally co-hosted by myself and Jim Edgeworth (The Edge of Tech) and now has various guest hosts, sponsors, and a dedicated Producer working in the background.As Producer for HotMakes, I prep every episode to air, doing research, communicating with guests, making social posts, and interacting with our community. During the show, I co-host the episodes with Jim Edgeworth, interviewing with our guests and interacting with our audience.

Hosted by Jim Edgeworth, The Edge of Tech is a YouTube channel that brings insightful and entertaining reviews, tutorials, tips, and tricks to the maker community with a focus on 3D printing, 3D printing accessories, at-home laser cutting and engraving, event coverage, and other various DIY projects you can do with your hands and, well, tech!As remote video editor for The Edge of Tech Channel, I provide at least one full edited video per week (sometimes multiple videos per week), with revisions as needed. Jim (the host) plans and records the videos based on community trending topics, sends me the files over an online file transfer service, and I combine video, audio, intros, outros, sound effects, callouts, titles, lower thirds, and other various graphics to produce a visually engaging end-product for him to upload to the channel.When I first started editing for The Edge of Tech, he was a fresh channel with around 500 subscribers. Today the channel has grown to 100,000+ subscribers and is expanding at a steady pace, with a dedicated and engaged community, and sponsors that help support producing regular new content.
