About Caleb Davis

Let's connect!I received a Ph.D. in Structural & Computational Biology for discovering and implementing algorithms that mine DNA sequencing data for structural variations (SVs; e.g. translocations). I used this software during my Postdoctoral Fellowship to discover for the first time that SVs recurrently juxtapose enhancer elements to the coding region of telomerase (TERT) in human cancer cells [1]. Subsequently, scientists discovered that TERT SV status helps explain high-risk subgroups of patients across multiple types of cancer [2-4]. Watch this space [5]!In 2015 I joined MolecularMatch, where I led development of infrastructure connecting cancer patients' genotypes to appropriate publications, clinical trials, and pharmaceutical treatments. Subsequently, I joined Gene By Gene, LTD. where I led development of similar infrastructure for hereditary diseases. I believe my best work is yet to come![1] Davis CF, et al.
