As a Field Training Officer (FTO), my role is pivotal in developing the skills and knowledge of new hires and less experienced EMTs. My primary responsibilities include:1. Training and Mentorship: I provide hands-on training and mentorship, teaching essential skills, protocols, and best practices in emergency care. I guide trainees through real-world scenarios, helping them to apply their knowledge effectively.2. Skill Evaluation: I assess and evaluate the competencies of trainees in various procedures and patient care techniques. I observe their performance, provide constructive feedback, and ensure they meet the required standards of care.3. Documentation and Reporting: I meticulously document the progress of trainees, noting their strengths and areas for improvement. 4.Patient Care: I continue to provide direct patient care in emergency situations, serving as a role model for trainees. I demonstrate how to effectively assess, stabilize, and treat patients in a variety of emergency scenarios.5.Protocol Adherence and Updates: I ensure that trainees are well-versed in current medical protocols, guidelines, and legal requirements. I also stay updated with the latest advancements in emergency medical care and incorporate these into the training program.6.
