Knowledge of the past and a passion for innovation are each critical. As a manufacturing engineer, it takes a system wide approach to be successful in today’s market. Logistics, inventory, programming, equipment, and process stability must work in harmony to elevate above the competition. Throughput is paramount, not the false promise of short cycle times. Through a large and ever growing knowledge in tooling/fixturing, high efficiency machining, process design, machine tool integration, and process control, I am able to meet these demands. I employ this mindset across an array of product lines including for the aerospace, firearm, defense, and semiconductor industries. As a product engineer in a demanding automotive market, meeting the manufacturing demands is a constant challenge. Through knowledge in CNC turning and milling, I am able to meet these demands. My major responsibilities include CNC programming for complex turbocharger components for high and low volume production along with small prototype orders. I also am responsible for instituting and maintaining high efficiency manufacturing techniques across our entire production floor. I perform these demands through CAD/CAM software packages including Mastercam, TruePath, SolidWorks. I also rely heavily on teamwork and critical thinking as these are the underlying skills that allow an engineer to be successful.
