Working on the crew displays for the Orion Human Spacecraft was a dream come true. In my role, I developed a Python script that would help save countless hours of manual work by automating a translation process for the display files. I also got the chance to participate in the company-wide Intern Case Study competition, where our team placed in the top 10 of 105 total teams for our solution to the commercialization of the moon.

This role was my first experience as a developer, where I helped my team fix bugs and implement new features for a desktop application called Pix2Net, which was used for extracting netlists from scanned images of integrated circuit chips. I made a positive impact by reducing search times within the application by 50%, and I learned a ton about what it takes to be a real developer.

As my first "real" job, I was learning something new probably every minute. In my role, I automated tests for a web application, which taught me a ton about web scraping HTML, reading HTML, writing readable and robust code, and delivering results. I had an amazing team that helped me along the way, and I will never forget watching my first test execute, as it rapidly clicked through a Chrome browser to ensure all the links were working smoothly.

This was a day camp for kids in preschool all the way to 8th grade, and was a ton of fun. I got to hang out outside with my counselor friends all summer, while working hard to make sure these kids got to enjoy their summers as much as possible. It also taught me a lot about dealing with kids, how they think, how to get them to do what they're supposed to, and definitely a lot of patience.
