During the time that I was with Fool we - Rebuilt their development workflow to use Git, Github, Lando, and Docker- Implemented marketing SaaS systems into the existing websites.During each project we managed to not only implement the solutions that the stakeholder needed, we also refactor many of the existing solutions to work better and faster.

I worked with both PHP/MySQL as well as JavaScript using the Riot.js framework in a massive web applicationPart of my contribution was a re-write of the search portion of the application using PHP to talk to ElasticSearch. The end result was a faster and more accurate search for the users of the application. I led the charge for an in-place replacement of the existing back end API to help streamline the existing application. I worked diligently to improve the unit test coverage of the underlying library the application was built on.

At Ibuildings I was head of the PHP Center for Excellence. I helped development teams company wide develop better practices for estimating jobs and completing projects.I organized and ran the Dutch PHP Conference, 2009.

At Jupiter Hosting I built and managed the development team. I also managed the 24x7 operations team.

My focus at Simpli was to bring my 22 years of IT experience to bear. I initiated several infrastructure changes while working to streamline the ordering and billing operations.* Led effort to audit billing system and locate customers who were not properly in the system.* Managed a cage in Above.net datacenter with 200+ servers. Includes shared hosting servers, firewalls, dedicated servers, co-location servers, routers and power equipment.* Held responsibility for all technical operations of the company.* Managed a 24x7 support team.* Improved efficiency in services offered that reduced number of support incidents and increased customer satisfaction.* Wrote automated nightly backup system for shared servers.* Implemented Nagios monitoring system for all corporate servers.
