It’s hard to pin down exactly where I call home. Born in San Francisco, yet raised in Connecticut, I studied neuroscience at the University of Michigan, before eventually landing in Seattle, Washington. But wait, there’s more! For the past seven years, I've been an international adventure travel guide - sometimes changing hotel rooms (or countries) every three days. This incredible position, and life, has afforded me the opportunity to circumnavigate the globe several times over and embrace over 40 countries. This life experience has brought me more than just a decorated passport though. It's instilled in me a zeal for the new and unknown, a comfortability with the uncomfortable, the thrill of fast paced environments and need for quick decision making paradoxically coupled with the appreciation for a well-thought out plan. Above all, it's made me adaptable. Wherever I find myself, I'm confident I'll not only enjoy it and make it my own, but will also keep it steady when things inevitably go awry. Currently, as a guide for Backroads Active Travel, my responsibility involves taking all this and using it to deliver an incredible customer experience, acting as a curator, concierge, translator and cultural ambassador with a passion for connecting with others. Things which require strength in anticipating, troubleshooting and solving problems, including detailed logistics.Lastly, all this time spent marveling at the world has led me to the realm of photography. Encompassed by a life of constant movement, the lens allows me to slow down, take everything in, and 'focus'. I enjoy capturing this world of ours from a unique perspective, highlighting the unseen and creating a story with each frame.https://www.calkevorkian.com/
