Pre-Press Operator
I would receive files from clients putting them through the pre-flight process ensuring that they met required standards to go to press. Once clearing pre-flight I would then place the PDF files into Sierra software to create the template and proofs needed to produce the final run. I would then create the proofs and send them off to the clients for approval. If there were any additional changes desired I would make corrections and work with the client until they were satisfied with the final proof. Once approval of proofs was achieved I would go ahead and release the plates for production, and forward the files and paperwork on through the production process.
Customer Service Supervisor / Sales Supervisor
As CSS I was responsible for the daily flow and operations of the front end of the business, as well as assisting the General Manager in any overflow work that needed to be completed. This included but was not limited to opening and closing of the store, safety, compliance, sales, and receiving documentation. Customer service, communicating schedules, duties, corporate directives, training, mentoring, inventory controls, loss prevention, and manager on duty. During my time as a Sales Supervisor I handled about a quarter of the stores daily operations. This would include receiving of trucks, merchandising, draw and create signage, inventory, loss prevention, display building, safety, training, customer service, and register. During my time I was able to increase sales by at least 9% in all of my area's, reduce stock, and reduce accident hazards.
Head Baker
As Head Baker I was the supervisor of the overnight production crew. I oversaw all of the day to day production planning, compliance, safety, inventory, cleaning, logistics, time management, production, finishing, designing, decorating, merchandising, as well as ordering of supplies and product. Because of circumstances beyond our control I would often have to work out the logistics of moving everything to another store to produce what was needed. Then inventory, what was used, transport the finished product and supplies back to our store and have it merchandised and ready to go by the time we opened.
Intern
Worked with and in support of the foType team as they constructed Graphic and Web Design solutions for non-profits. This included communicating with clients, building frameworks, mood boards, mock-ups, proofs, design assets and produced finalized products for the projects. I worked within a team structure on multiple projects and platforms as well as solo projects. While at the same time delivering deadline driven work.Extensive use of Adobe Creative Suite, Slicey, and content management interfaces. Worked in brainstorming concepts, product direction, strengthening brands, logo design, banners, business cards, desktop publishing, web assets, campaign materials, and multimedia displays.
Graphic Design Consultant / Freelance Designer
Starting in 2006 I started do freelance graphic work and advising local small businesses about design matters. Non-profit, branding, business cards, brochures, letterhead, logos, tickets, programs, video editing, PowerPoint presentations, photography, and web solutions.
Deli Teamleader / Meat Cutter
As a Meat Cutter I would fill out the daily production plan, pull product, cut product(Beef, Pork, and Lamb), cut and tray cut product, wrap, and merchandise in the case. I also had to handle fresh seafood for the case as well as special events. Responsibilities also included Customer Service, Receiving, Stocking, Inventory, Ordering, Scheduling, Product Rotation, Cleaning, Compliance, Safety, Performance Reviews, Building Displays, Training, and Team Building. When asked to take over the Deli / Rotisserie / Ready to Eat Meals area I transferred many of the same skills to a different department. In taking over this area I was able to improve sales, decrease damages, standardize procedures, reduce on hands, create a system monitor dating, create cleaning and maintenance schedules, cross train associates, as well as improve safety and compliance scores. All while maintaining a payroll percentage that was over 2% under corporate expectation.
Founder / President
Starting in July of 2006 I founded and ran a 501c3 that provided both physical and financial assistance to ministers and missionaries who came into catastrophic life situations. We helped with everything from basic food and clothing, to assisting with funeral costs, and cancer treatments. While most of our help was based in Michigan, during that time we were also able to help individuals in seven states, and ten countries with assistance. My duties included record keeping, running board meetings, organizing volunteers, fundraising, organizing functions, design of logos, website, and print materials. I also was responsible for the collection of donations, managing inventory of food and clothing pantry, and distribution of goods and services.
Fresh Manager
After rapid promotion from Cutter, then Meat Teamleader, I was offered the Fresh Managers position at the Holland Club. In that position I was responsible for the oversight of the Cafe, Deli, Meat, Produce, Floral, and Demo Departments. This required great communication skills, time management, team building, project management, and operational management. Receiving, inventory management, inventory, ordering, scheduling, customer service, quality assurance, compliance, safety, human resources, budgets, merchandising, analysis, vendor relations, mentoring, and marketing were other skills and aspects that were employed on a day to day basis. In my time as a Fresh Manager I was able to work around a remodel in all of the fresh area's. During this time I was also able to build a strong team, mentor three of my associates into supervisory roles, and increase sales by as much as 30% in struggling area's of the business. I also was able to increase the number of Latino based products in the club to support the businesses of the local members so they did not have to drive to Chicago to get them.
