Worked as a Marketing and Systems Consultant for Distinctively Paint.

As a partner with Distinctively Paint, I introduced a planned marketing approach, designed workflow systems to increase efficiency, and designed and implemented new and improved sales strategies. The marketing approach included everything from target marketing neighbourhoods based on both demographics and psychographics, strategic alliance campaigns which required business to business sales, and networking with applicable organizations including the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, the Calgary Entrepreneur Group, the Calgary Marketing Group and the Corporate Group for Allied Associates. I introduced workflow systems which drastically improved efficiency, but more importantly created a consistent and improved level of service. The sales strategy included a pristine professional image, creating consistency in pricing, and a sales system which could be easily replicated and tracked. This system included the development of a presentation kit and presentation processes designed to identify and alleviate the clients questions and concerns, as well as to present the benefits of working with Distinctively Paint.I led the sales team (consisting of 2 others and myself plus an administrative assistant) to continuously strive to improve through consultative selling, being the expert in the industry and instilling trust in our desire and ability to provide a service that was above and beyond. My personal track record is exceptional with a close ratio consistently over 90% and customer service feedback indicating ‘exceeds expectations’ over 4 out of 5 times.

A sales role on a global scale; I am responsible to find projects in control rooms all over the world. I identify and make contact with decision makers; inform and educate the potential client as to the solutions we offer; and then guide them through the very complex and detailed process of custom console design, being careful to balance features with budgets. This role requires self-motivation, tenacity in hunting, and a very strong attention to detail as the client is typically a high level executive and the product value of any given sale can range from the tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
