In this position, I was required to coordinate missions, distribute orders to subordinate units, conduct rehearsals, and evaluate troop risk. I received extensive training as an operations specialist (project manager). In September 2011 until August 2012, I deployed to Afghanistan where I served as my Battalion’s S3 Operations Non-commissioned officer in charge; a responsibility of great magnitude, for which I was later awarded the Bronze Star Medal.
