My partner and I revamped the existing cafe at Boulders Beach Hotel, Café and Curio into Bayella Café in order to take advantage of the tourist season in Cape Town. We brought in new menu items that were prepared in a different kitchen and employed more staff. Facilitating this change was a great learning experience. I was responsible for managing the team of new employees as well as incorporating existing employees into the team. There were also many operational issues I had to overcome such as implementing a new ordering system and changing the design of the existing café kitchen as well as the new kitchen.

My role was mainly to provide research to assist with writing articles.
