Promoted to being in control of branding for the secondary school department of Twinkl Educational Publishing (rebranded as 'Beyond'). In August 2019 the secondary school department at Twinkl was completely rebranded, and we were given autonomy to develop our own style and systems as well being in charge of our own hiring. I moved from my previous role into this one, working closely with the core team to make Beyond a success. - I created our illustration brand style with our intended audience in mind, in collaboration with our Brand Design Lead (to ensure the illustrations suited our new design templates). I created detailed guidance documents on style rules and the training documents to go alongside it.- Writing new role specifications, reviewing job applications, interviewing, testing and hiring new illustrators. Additionally I trained all new Illustrators in both our brand style and company practices. - Carried out daily brand checks and provided constructive feedback to team members as well as allocating work based on deadlines and priorities.- Continued to manage the team members I hired and trained. Holding regular catch ups, setting and working toward individual goals. Assessed performance and discussed wellbeing.- Daily meetings, to ensure workflow was efficient across 7 different product teams. Building strong working relationships across teams and acting as the main point of contact for illustration queries. Teams included: English, Maths, Science, RSE, Geography, Australia & Marketing.- Liaised with other leaders within the business, reported on performance and regularly attend training sessions to improve my skillset. - Continued work as an illustrator alongside my leadership role, creating a wide variety of artwork in Adobe Photoshop for educational resources aimed at Secondary School students.
