Becoming a nurse has been my dream for as long as I can remember. I have loved helping others be their best possible self from a young age. In high school, I was able to turn all those feelings into an idea of pursuing a career in the medical field. As I applied to colleges, I knew that nursing was what I truly wanted to pursue without a doubt in my mind. I chose to achieve my goal of nursing at SFA because it not only felt like a home away from home, but also because of its amazing nursing program. My knowledge started to really grow as I completed my prerequisites, and I was overjoyed as I was accepted into the nursing program. The past two years of my nursing school journey have truly been life changing. I have learned so much about myself through everything, and my dream of becoming a nurse felt so much more real. All the hospital, community, and outpatient clinicals I have experienced have taught me so much and have truly shaped me for the field of nursing. My nursing journey is just getting started and I can't wait to see where it takes me. I am so excited to get my career started as a new graduate in the nursing field. I have accepted a position at Texas Health in Fort Worth on their neuro progressive care unit. I am looking forward to learning as much as I possibly can, grow my skills, and make THR my home! My goals short term are to take everything I have learned in nursing school and apply them to the best of my ability in my residency program. I want to absorb as much information as possible, taking it day by day to reach my goals as a new graduate. There are so many opportunities not only in nursing, but also at Texas Health and I can't wait to see where they take me.As a nurse, I think it's important to be constantly learning and growing. My goal long term is to continue my education by going to nurse practitioner school. I know this could open so many doors and take my nursing career to new heights. Simply put, my goals both short and long term are to make a difference in people's lives every time I interact with them. I can't wait to see it all unfold as a nurse and potentially as a nurse practitioner!
