I have always been passionate about any form of creative writing. So much so I have won my first poetry writing competition in year 6, my first poetic piece is published inside a book alongside many other school children’s poetries. I aim to become a full-time editor at a publishing company when I finish my MA. My short horror story, The Ice Demon of Mount Crooked, was published on the Edge Hill University magazine society back in December 2021. It was published on the Quack’s online blog page. This micro-fiction was published on BBC Radio 4, and you can access it on my LinkTree, alongside all of my published magazine poems and short stories. My BBC Radio 4 piece was also praised in an Edge Hill University article for the BA Creative Writing course. You can access the article praising my work on my LinkTree. I have published a blog post on my WordPress blog, ‘Killing cliché archetypes of bullies and plot device characters. By C.W. McGee’. This blog post gained a lot of positive feedback with helping online readers and is one of my blog posts I am most proud off. Furthermore, my blog post 4.48 Psychosis by Sarah Kane inspired Micro fiction by C.W. McGee, was another popular micro fiction which fellow writers I’ve made connections with online loved it. The piece tackles school bullying and relatable feelings of fear around bullies which is another of my proudest blog posts.I have sent my poem ‘Seven-years of Hell’ to the inaugural Liverpool Poetry Prize, organised by the Liverpool Brain Charity. Renowned Liverpool poet Roget McGough will judge it. I sent my personal poetry regarding my feelings of anxiety to Visible poetry competition. They ask for poetry of people who go through struggles.Moreover, I was the lead writer, editor, and director of a short theatre production I developed alongside a team at Edge Hill University. I worked with actors and gained directing experience, such as providing constructive feedback to actors and being louder with their lines, directing them on where to stand on the stage for audiences to get the best view of them. I also directed actors where to stand when reciting their lines and got set props out of the way of actors. I have experience editing a theatre script, polishing dialogue and stage directions, and working with theatre management and budget holders of my team. Most importantly, I worked as part of a team to develop our thirty-minute play, share ideas, and develop our theatre production.
