I'm a first year Brewmaster student at Olds College, before this I was a chef. I have always loved the food and beverage industry, it allows my creativity to shine. I've changed my career path because I am passionate about brewing and want to do it for the rest of my life. I want to eventually have my own nano brewery/restaurant so that I can continue to be creative with my brewing and to have a great chef pair their food with my beer.I plan on obtaining this goal by getting as much experience in a nano brewery. This will help me know exactly what it takes to become a successful brewery in this booming scene we have in Alberta.Short term goals:-Create recipe book for myself for post graduation-Get more in touch with the scene and help local brewers as much as possibleLong term goals:-Have a successful nano pub-Educate the public on beer-With the brewery, give back to the community and start good community initiatives and programs.-Sponsor a local sports team with my nano pub With all the new breweries opening, I believe it is important to have a code of ethics:-Be honest to your customer, tell them everything that is in your beer.-Do your part to help the environment. From everything to proper waste water treatment, to recycling bottles. -Employees come first. Ensure that your employees are safe and happy at work.-It's not all business. Do your part to give back to the community, if they support your business, you should support them too.
