My job requires me to Promote, co-ordinate and develop Data and Geographic Information (GI) throughout council services. Investigate, develop, promote and co-ordinate the use of innovative technologies throughout the Council and re-design business processes to enable efficiencies in service delivery. Assist the Innovation Specialist in the development of project teams assigned from across a broad range of service areas to deliver each element in any related project.To accomplish this I carry out a number of roles, these include, creating and maintaining spatial data using a variety of products particularly Ordnance Survey products to relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle and SQL Server to maintain the details and use of these spatial data sets.. I use this data to help creates maps in different formats for use in documentation to the web.I am an the Lead Developer and Administrator for our Salesforce CRM as part of Economic Growth as a long-term and more cost effective replacement, using tools such as Jitterbit to migrate data between the two.My work makes me an administrator for Astun Technology from mapserver to ishare to collate and display a wide variety of data across services and to the public. In order to carry out much of this work I am proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and SQL allowing me to create technological solutions for internal services and and external customers.

The principals responsibilities of this post were to Promote, co-ordinate and develop Geographic Information Data and System across the council using a wide variety of platforms to share and present data clearly and in a geographic manner.Develop and promote the use of technological solutions to better gather, use and promote GI throughout the council and commercial partners. Produce different kind of maps to represent data geographically for all means and purposes. Manage and maintain existing ERDMS functions and provide training and technical support.Produce, manage and analyse public consultations and engagements through existing services and newly developed technological solutions. Administrate online databases used throughout the council mapping products and department, providing technical support and training. Develop and co-ordinate use of relational databases to manage the various Geographical Information and Data used throughout the council.

As part of my job I had a variety of tasks and projects that I was a part of that enabled me to gain a greater understanding of the various work within the department, this led me to be able move between projects and use this new knowledge to work on and improve multiple projects. Throughout my time I was the Co-lead and coordinator of the development of the Annual Public Health Report 2014, determining which sections to include and what content and projects to highlight in line with council’s operations and provide instructions to individual writers to concentrate on. I was part of the team that had to research and writing a chapter on Mental Health/wellbeing for the APHR, gathering information, data and trends on local and national rates to create a detailed profile of North Lincolnshire. Another part of my work was to design, create and maintain databases for different teams with different purposes and inputting data using Microsoft Excel, Access and SPSS. As part of my research I had to analysis of poverty in North Lincolnshire and its association with Health risks in association with supporting organisations/agencies. then to access the metadata – data profiles of Heath indicators, poverty related health and children centre. Analyzing and updating on a monthly basis.Part of my duties required me to design and create a public questionnaire to send out to gather information and preferences of local pharmacies.A major component was to work on the Healthy Workplace Award Scheme, an evidence-based research portfolio to gather information and data on a health profile of North Lincolnshire Council to put forward for a silver award. Update and finish report based on finding and recommendations.Other day to day work was general administration such as filing of documents, inputting data, creating posters for display informing of Healthy Walks initiative, use of email, phone to contact colleagues.

Primarily designed to provide a wide variety of work, however it resulted in a much narrower focus to work on existing and upcoming content and design for the new website under a timeframe to meet department deadlines. The Council allowed me to gain greater experience from dealing with deadlines to specific types of jobs and learning new types of tasks and assignments. Work involved a detailed description/contact list of organisation advice services involved with Council for Connect to Support Service. A database highlighting out-of-date content through adult services web directory, organizing updates and rewriting all content for a more consumer focused initiative. Input in meetings involving website design - content and design choices, identifying changing viewership (smartphones and social media), People’s Directorate staff handbook and a management questionnaire for department employees.

Work Placement with Nic Dakin MP Local Office involved settling local matter through referrals to providing them with necessary documentation and information to assist. I personally dealt with cases involving disability from benefits and immigration. Furthermore I was given the opportunity to highlight upcoming events within my constituency through a written article on ‘Love your local Market’. Constructing and clarifying Nic Dakin schedule, drafting up documents such as speeches to research, making him aware of time of events to working general website and social media.
