The role of the technical assistant was of a more general nature and mainly involved aiding the design engineers during projects to gain a broader understanding of the company and industry. The most common responsibilities can be seen below:• Creating 3D CAD models of parts and assemblies as well as technical drawings using both Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.• Producing technical reports based on research tasks for the development of new products.• Travelling with engineers to both manufacturing and build sites to assist with the commissioning of projects.• Assisting workshop engineers primarily in assembling and testing the superstructure steelwork but also in other areas of project wok when necessary.• Conducting visual inspections of refractory superstructures alongside draughtsman.
