At Lambeth Council I worked within the Neighbourhoods and Growth Directorate within the Economic Inclusion team as the Principal Employment and Skills Project Officer. Part of my role was to identify gaps in provision within Employment and Skills in Lambeth, with a view to designing, developing and implementing programmes to support residents.I project managed a range of complex commissioned contracts working across a range of sectors to improve the lives and well-being of Lambeth residents witha focus on reduycing inequality through the Lambeth equalities commission report. I engaged with local communities to understand their views, challenges and to work with them to maximise Employment and Skills opportunities through Section 106 obligations and funding. A large part of my role was to work collaboratively across departments with other council officers to encourage a multi-agency approach to supporting residents.

In my role as London Operations Manager for Street League, I project managed complex employability programmes that supported 16-24 year olds progress into sustainable employment, education or training. Between November 2013 to Jun 2016 Street League London Operations helped more than 200 young people into employment, education or training. Project managed Skills Funding Agency (SFA) and Education Funding Agency (EFA) programmes including traineeships, employability programmes, alongside Big Lottery and corporate funded income. Developed and managed relationships with large corporate organisations, to design workshops that added value to Street League programmes and helped organisations deliver their Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. As part of the Operations Management Team, I worked alongside the Senior Management Team to evaluate data in order to shape future delivery of programmes.

As a Progressions Coordinator it was my role to develop and support Street League participants to overcome their barriers and progress into employment, education or training. A big part of this was to increase their confidence, motivation, employability skills and personal development.Through demonstrating commitment, motivation and achieving excellent results, I was one of 12 people out of 110 selected by Senior Management to take part in a Future Leaders Management programme. The programme was designed to help staff gain knowledge, skills and insight into managerial related tasks and challenges.

As Youth and Community Coach my role was to deliver structured football sessions that were designed to increase confidence, motivation, physical health and well-being. I linked the football sessions as often as possible to highlight peoples transferable skills and link it to employability. The Street Football sessions were used to prepare people to progress onto a Street League Academy programme.I developed and built relationships with organisations to raise the profile of Street League and explore opportunities of partnership working. I created strategic outreach plans to increase referrals into Street Football programmes. I also delivered monthly match day tournaments to raise awareness of Street League and participation levels. Due to the success of the Street Football programmes, I was selected to represent the Street League England at the South Africa 2010 World Cup. I managed a team of Street League participants who took part in a Street Football World Tournament, alongside the actual FIFA world cup.

Coventry, Nuneaton & Bedworth

I started my career as a Football Coach working with Coventry City's Football in the Community Scheme. I gained my professional footballing coaching certificates and on the job invaluable coaching experience. I mainly worked in Primary Schools coaching school children during curriculum time as part of Planning Preparation (PPA) and Assessment sessions.I designed and created innovative session plans as part of a scheme of work to deliver during school curriculum time, helping to increase key skills such as team work, building relationships, communication and problem solving. I managed a programme of after school clubs and half term holiday camps across Nuneaton and Bedworth. These programmes were the main source of income for the scheme and helped to generate income that increased the sustainability and growth of the scheme. As my knowledge and experience developed I was given more responsibility and targets against income generation. I was responsible for hiring volunteers, casual coaching staff and securing venues to deliver programmes. The Community Scheme was highly successful and went from being reliant on funding from the football club, to becoming fully self sufficient and profitable.
