About Callum Allison

I am an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow at Newcastle University and an Neurosurgery Speciality Trainee (ST2) within NHS England (North East). I have a background in the lab-based medical sciences and clinical research prior to commencing my medical training. I have postgraduate qualifications in clinical research, with experience in conducting both NIHR-portfolio and commercial clinical trials within an NHS setting. Specific experience includes: study design, protocol creation, ethics, the IRAS/HRA process, data collection, statistical analysis, and write-up. My personal research interests include clinical trials within neurosurgery and neuro-oncology, as well as translational research, bridging the basic and clinical sciences to ultimately improve survival and quality of life of those patients living with brain tumours. I also have a keen interest in investigating outcomes in head trauma.
