In this role I was a member of FortisBC's environment and sustainability team. My main responsibility has been researching ways that FortisBC could generate its own purchasable carbon credits, as well as researching where FortisBC could purchase carbon credits from. My research has been independent, and I have presented on my findings to the rest of my team, giving my recommendations into what projects we could pursue, with budget and carbon sequestration rate kept in mind. I have also gained exposure to what corporate compliance standards FortisBC tries to meet, and how FortisBC is working to reduce its fugitive carbon emissions.

SanMar is a global clothing company, and I was a part of their sustainability team. The team dealt with all things ESG related to the company, and my specific job was looking at the data of how all our factories performed in an ESG survey. After research, I prescribed courses that factory managers could take to improve their worker safety and environmental performance. Other aspects of this role included calculating SanMar's emissions, validating the sustainability of their supply chain, and reviewing factory safety audits.

Smithers, British Columbia, Canada

In this role I was an assistant forestry technician for Silvicon, which is a forestry company based out of Smithers BC. This job was almost entirely independent field work, and my main responsibility was conducting waste and residue surveys, as per government regulation. Data that I collected was passed onto the ministry of forestry, who would use it to issue fines for improper logging.
