Began as a trainee and progressed into current role of Digital Services Engineer. In my role, I am always on the lookout to improve profitability, improving efficiency in processes by streamlining and digitising and maintaining both internal stakeholder and external supplier relationships to a high standard. A large part of my role is to arrange and monitor asset hire, negotiating costs and responding to internal customer enquiries. The role evolves and changes with the business needs - a recent example is sourcing and selling COVID-19 supplies to both internal and external customers.Responsibilities include:- Service work on fire extinguishers- Installing wireless fire alarms at construction sites- Installing data points into site cabins- Programming, despatching and providing technical support on Hytera Two Way Radios and Push to Talk Over Cellular radios- Managing Ofcom applications for radios to ensure compliance- Managing the installation, removal and maintenance of Blokcam Crane Camera System- Processing mobile phone orders for employees and providing general support- Supporting the internal surveying department, particularly in the hire of survey equipment - Providing Point Cloud and drone services- Providing traditional laser scanning services- Managing deployment of 4G routers for site IT connectionsAchievements include:- Won Star Performer of the month on four occasions- Won Star Performer of the year on one occasion- A colleague and I identified an opportunity to undertake drone work in-house instead of outsourcing in order to increase profitability within the business.
