Owner and Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Clyde Ground Investigation Limited.

• Management of small to medium size ground investigation contracts up to the value of £600,000, predominantly with the role of Site Agent • Working at times as part of a small team and at others as part of a large team under the direction of senior engineers• Supervise and manage ground investigation sites including plant and personnel including subcontractors • Financial control including production of applications, invoices and maintaining weekly cost/income records • Good understanding of ground investigation techniques required for particular foundation design• Competent use of computer software including Microsoft Office and Holebase as well as basic use of AutoCAD• Producing the relevant health and safety documentation required to undertake the work and ensuring it is adhered to by all staff • Producing and updating of programmes to follow and forecast progress of contracts• Understanding of duties held under CDM Regulations 2015 • Holding and chairing frequent meetings with clients to discuss progress of larger contracts • Providing on and off site training to assistant engineers and drillers• Producing geotechnical and geochemical testing schedules for client completion • Producing factual reports on the finding from ground investigation works• Member of The BAM Ambassador Scheme where I have visited local schools and delivered presentations on careers in Engineering.• Keeping detailed records of continuous personal development (CPD) and working towards next level of qualification with IOMMM and chartership

As an Engineering Geologist my day to day roles include; trial pitting, window sampling, gas monitoring, logging soils and core to British Standards, logistics, report writing and planning all aspects of site investigation.

•Drill rig supervision and diamond core logging (including geotechnical) of small to large diameter core (NQ, HQ and conventional 8C)•Rock chip logging using reverse circulation, percussion air/hammer and mud rotary•Drill target design and planning for greenfield exploration•Soil sampling for geochemical analysis of gold and other trace elements•Field mapping and outcrop sampling•Coal seam data management, assay analysis and interpretation•Geophysical log interpretation and corrections•Identification and mapping of potentially viable areas for coal mining•Database management•Historic Literature searches•Mapping and planning using GIS software (Manifold)•Supervision of a 3 to 4 rig drilling program including client liaison and logistics•Good knowledge of OH&S systems•Preparation of drilling reports for legislative and ASX purposes
