Over two winter seasons I have worked in the Whistler Base Pod, which focuses on teaching adult beginners from first-timers, to those comfortable on green and blue runs with basic parallel turns. In addition, I have taught both kids programs and higher-level Clients' in private lessons. Each day I would lead a class independently, tailoring instruction to various skill levels, emphasising safety and creating a positive learning environment. In addition to scheduled lessons I had the privilege of instructing with the Charity 'Zero Ceiling', an organisation seeking to challenge youth homelessness. During the 23/24 season I was placed in charge of the 'Set-Up' operation, which oversaw the set-up and tear down of the designated snow school areas. My responsibilities included liaising with staff interested in joining the team, providing training, and, organising the schedule each week. Throughout the season I was relied upon to use my initiative to solve any issues and was the main point of contact for upper management. In turn, it was my responsibility to ensure the rest of the team remained in the loop and could carry-out any new directives/developments concerning the teaching areas on the mountain. On the basis of my performance during my employment with the company, I was nominated for the 2023 Epic Service Summer Development Experience, completing a learning program on:- Our Business- Leading Self- Leading Others.

Over the summer season at Whistler Blackcomb, I played a pivotal role in launching an electric dirt-bike activity tailored for children. Working closely with Stacyc, the brand behind the initiative, I received comprehensive training directly from their representative. My responsibilities included coaching young riders, addressing inquiries from parents, and ensuring seamless operations from opening to closing with minimal supervisor oversight, including stringent security procedures. Additionally, I actively promoted the activity during events like the Crankworx mountain bike festival and trade show, liaising with the public by organizing competitions and distributing vouchers to drive participation.

Working for an agency, I’ve been able to gain experience in a variety of roles including bar, food and table service. I’ve also become adept at managing customer expectationsin differing, fast-paced environments to meet performance standards required by our clients. For instance, in November 2022 I was entrusted to serve high-level Clients' in a VIP box during the Autumn Test Matches at Murrayfield Stadium, with limited Supervisor oversight.By working in changing venues and functions, I’ve become adaptable to new situations and can utlilise my skills accordingly, as well as being able to bond with newcolleagues and teams. Through my time with the agency I’ve been able to ensure continuous improvement in my customer service skills.
