The role of the NAC is to advise the board on important and emerging matters relating to the physiotherapy profession and the association. The NAC comprises APA members who are presidents of branches or chairs of National Groups. Other NAC members include representatives of the student group, the rural and remote membership base, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Committee and the Australian College of Physiotherapists.

Assisting with research protocol, Active Strides-CP, a single-blind multi-site randomised controlled trial (RCT) will investigate whether school-age children with moderate to severe CP (Gross Motor Function Classification System GMFCS III and IV) who are randomised to an eight-week ACTIVE STRIDES-CP intervention, compared with care as usual (CAU), have improved gross motor function immediately post intervention.Active Strides-CP comprises a package of rehabilitation of Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) cycling, adapted cycling, partial body weight support treadmill training (PBWSTT), overground gait training and goal directed training with a total dose of direct therapy of 32 hours delivered over an eight-week period.

Grade awarded: 72/80 (90%). Mixed outpatient and inpatient setting with a varied caseload across clinical areas of burns, plastics, vascular malformations (pre- and post-surgery) and orthopaedics. Saw patients with acute, sub-acute and chronic presentations, completing holistic and multi-system assessments and treatment. Assisted with serial casting on several occasions.
